In today's world of rapid communication, success in English and Public Speaking isn't just about getting a good grade. It's about gaining the critical skills necessary to reach others effectively and efficiently, from writing a formal argumentative essay for a classroom assignment to creating a short digital message for the global stage of social media.
I want you to be in charge of your words with confidence and wisdom and to see the power language holds to help you achieve your goals in academics, in your professional pursuits, and in your relationships.
My personal goal is to champion each one of you to see the value that is uniquely yours and to encourage you to define yourself in your own words, not to be defined by others. Words are powerful, and you must learn to master language, or it will certainly master you.
One of the most exciting things about being a teacher is learning from students, and I look forward to learning from you this year!
I hope you are ready to work hard. It will certainly be worth it!
